Did the writer and editor of Adventure Comics # 376 just not know what “confirmed bachelor” was a euphemism for?

Or is Reep the first DC hero to ever come out on panel?

Maybe they thought "confirmed bachelor" meant "virgin."

I'm not up on all the LoSH trivia, but didn't Shooter write some before he was actually old enough to be? Was this one he wrote back then?
